In this age of e-commerce, this is indeed a commendable effort. The organisation behind this initiative has also been conducting workshops to initiate potential customers into the intricate and interesting processes behind the making of these sweets and handicrafts. In this way, it hopes to create a lot of interest around these products. According to the organisation, through the selling the products, it wants to create a sustainable stream of revenue for its makers.
The website and app would not just sell. You would also find there the stories and legends behind the creations of these products. There are interesting stories, especially behind the making of many of the sweets.
The delivery time of these products has been kept very competitive: eight hours for orders from inside Kolkata, 24 hours for West Bengal and 36 hours for the rest of India.
The website would be inaugurated on Wednesday, December 9.
