Maa Mati Manush – celebrating Bengal!

February 18, 2014

We at Maa Mati Manush achieved a milestone recently. We crossed 500 followers on Twitter. strives to be an interface between contemporary Bengal and its aspirations, and the rest of the world. ‘Digital Global Bengali Adda’ is our tagline, and we strive to hold up the culture, people, achievers, and all other positive aspects of West Bengal, our Bengal.

And as the tagline suggests, ours is a platform to celebrate Bengal, and Bengalis as well as everyone else who have a feeling for Bengal.

Over the last seven-and-a-half months we have covered everything from culture to tourism to industry to wildlife to achievers (both from Bengal as well as Bengalis living outside Bengal and outside India) to what not – a panorama of everything that represents the state. On our website there is internet radio too, where you can savour the best that Bengali music has to offer, be it modern or old.

And we will continue to do so. Our aim is to spread the good word about Bengal all over the world, connecting souls to the roots of Bengal, wherever in the whole wide world someone from Bengal may be.

The more than 500 followers on Twitter which we are celebrating today is proof that we are going on the right path. And we are sure that with your help, positive criticism and constant encouragement, we will continue to do our good work. We also have a presence on Facebook.

Bengal is a land of tradition and innovation, a society of verve and energy and a culture of liberalism and argument. This digital platform seeks to replicate that community on the internet.

We have begun a great journey, and with you, the viewers, we will continue on our glorious journey of a quintessentially Bengali adda!
