CESC mobile app

August 24, 2014

CESC is one of the leading power companies of India, serving 2.3 million consumers, which includes domestic, industrial and commercial users, covering an area of 567 sq km of Kolkata and the district of Howrah. It began life in 1897 as India’s first fully integrated electrical power utility, both generating and distributing power.

As befits the hallowed tradition of CESC, it has notched up another first – the first power company in India to introduce a mobile phone app. Nowadays, there are mobile apps available for all sorts of purposes, and so CESC has decided that it too should provide this sort of enhanced service to its customers.

Through this app, consumers would be able to access a host of services like bill detail, last payment detail, bill calculator, duplicate bill request, consumption and payment history, complaints, and application for separate meters for air conditioners. The app can be downloaded from the CESC website as well as from Google Playstore and Apple iStore. If you want to download it from the website, visit this link and download the app: https://www.cesc.co.in/cesc/web/customer/customer.html.

The CESC app can be activated across browsers and operating systems. After tapping on the app on your mobile phone, you will see two options – ‘Existing Consumer’ and ‘New Application Status’. Tapping the former takes you to a screen where you have to enter either your 11-digit consumer number or your 11-digit customer ID, and then a captcha text. After this you enter your customer domain and can access various services. Tapping the latter would take you to a screen where you have to enter your application details to see the status of your application.

Through this app, CESC has taken another step towards providing its customers a smooth experience.
