A cyber crime police station was inaugurated at the Bidhannagar Commissionerate in Salt Lake, Kolkata on Wednesday.
The new police station will only deal with complaints against web-related crimes. The new police station has three rooms on the first floor of Bidhannagar North police station in DF block.
It will have 13 personnel, including one inspector, one sub-inspector, four ASI and seven constables out of which three constables are women. The police station is equipped with 12 computers and state-of-the-art devices.
The cyber crime police station will handle all offences falling under the Information Technology Act. People can directly go to the cyber police station and lodge a complaint or visit the nearest police station out of the ten police stations which fall under the Bidhannagar Commissionerate, with their grievances, which will then be transferred to the new police station.
